Development and Validation of Endemic Hope Scale

Purpose: The objective of this study was to construct and validate a culturally linguistically relevant scale for measuring hope. Method: researchers used logical-content approach generate pool 42 items, which were then subjected qualitative item analysis by an expert in the field. Based on analysis, 29 items deemed acceptable 13 eliminated due poor content validity overlapping content. remaining quantitative using Endemic Hope Scale sample 202 participants between 18 32 years (M=22.12, SD=2.09). Along with current two standardized instruments named Adult Dispositional (Synder et al,1991) Zung Self Rated Depression (Zung,1967) administered order establish convergent former discriminant later. Item total correlation computed 10 had below 0.30.Thus, they from 19 retained. Principal Component Factor carried out Oblimin rotation method after confirmation KMO measure value .87.
